Two New has curated a programme of recently composed works that experiment with temporal perception through the synchronisation and juxtaposition of contrasting musical and physical elements. With works by Steen-Andersen, Santiago Diez Fischer, Kenn Kumpf, Ricardo Eizirik. Featuring Swiss premieres by Manfred Stahnke and Beat Gysin and a world premiere by Einar Torfi Einarsson.
In the programmed works: stasis evokes movement, calmness emerges from hyperactivity, repetition is both controlling and controlled, microtonality is a stabilizing and destabilizing force, and memory is relied upon and undermined. The result is a dynamic choreography of time.
